Union County 911 down and AT&T issuesDue to a weather related event primarily those whose phone service is through AT&T may not be able to call our dispatch center at either 570-577-1111 or 570-577-3333. This issue also affects calling 911 which is currently still down in Union County. Once the issue is resolved we send a campus wide email advising services have returned to normal. In the event you need to reach Public Safety and your cell phone gives you a busy signal when calling, you can reach us using the BSAFE App chat feature, calling from a University landline, or stopping by our station.9/7/23 22:22 9/8/23 15:26

Issue Reaching Tech Support via TelephoneCurrently, any on campus calls placed from an Avaya phone to the Library & IT Tech Support phone number (570-577-7777) are not being properly connected. There are no issues with calls being placed from Zoom Phones, cellular phones, or calls placed from off campus. Our technicians are currently working through the issue. In the meantime, if you need assistance from Tech Support and are using the on campus Avaya telephone system, please email techdesk@bucknell.edu or submit a ticket from https://litservices.bucknell.edu. Eduroam Maintenance and Certificate ChangeThis Tuesday (07/11) between 11am and 2pm we'll be performing maintenance on our Eduroam servers. Engineering Database Server (eg-db) Unavailable June 27th, 6am-10amThe engineering database server (eg-db.bucknell.edu/db.eg.bucknell.edu) will undergo some maintenance and upgrades on June 27th from 6am-10am. BisonNet Unavailable May 16 & 17BisonNet services (https://bisonnet.bucknell.edu) will be unavailable beginning on May 16, 2023 at 7am until May 17, 2023 at 10pm. Please note that all BisonNet jobs will be terminated during this outage. Also, as part of this outage, we'll be upgrading the environment to a newer version of Linux. If you have installed/compiled any programs in your account, you may have to rebuild/reinstall those programs following the outage. Secure FTP changes with ftp.netspaceFor those that use Secure FTP (SFTP) to access the ftp.netspace.bucknell.edu system, this message pertains to you. Updates to the existing system are planned and will be implemented on Tuesday, April 11th from 7:00am-8:00am. These updates will include increased security that will no longer allow SFTP connections from off campus. What does this mean? After these changes have been made, the only way to access ftp.netspace through SFTP will be by either being on campus or through the VPN. In addition, since the server will be replaced, the first time you connect to the updated system there is a good possibility you will receive a security warning that the host key has changed. Your software should provide instructions about how to remove or overwrite the old host key.
