If you attended a Bucknell track meet this year, you may have done a double take during the men's 4x100 meter relay, where identical twins Alex '21 and Robert Dessoye '21 pass the baton as members of the same squad. Spectators also enjoy watching the brothers race against each other — "they really like that," Alex said.
The brothers from Egg Harbor, N.J., both chose Bucknell to study biology and run Division I track & field, but since arriving on campus they've also explored new interests and pursued passions that are anything but identical.
"Going in, committing together, we [thought], 'We're going to be together again. We're going to be known as the twins,' " Robert said. "But then when we got here we realized we can be our own people. We can branch out."
Learn more about how Alex and Robert are running in their own directions in this Bucknell Student Story video.
